Medical Assistant
This course provides students with a comprehensive learning experience, designed to provide, through lecture and clinical instruction as well as online learning, a body systems approach to the role of the medical assistant. Lectures cover the anatomy, medical terminology and medical conditions pertaining to each body system. Clinical instruction provides hands-on training of the procedures associated with each body system. Competency is verified through a skills check-off system. Completion of the course prepares students to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant National Certification Exam (CCMA).

7 Weeks course

Hybrid classes includes reading chapters, completing assignments, and studying for tests at home.

Hybrid students will be scheduled to come to class 2 days out of the week (Monday & Thursday, 10-2pm or 6-9pm) to acquire hands on training, and the last week will be used for CPR & CCMA testing.

In-person classes are Monday - Thursday either 10-2pm or 6-9pm, 140 hours of applied studies and laboratory.
