Medical Assistant COMING MARCH 2024
This course provides students with a comprehensive learning experience, designed to provide, through lecture and clinical instruction as well as online learning, a body systems approach to the role of the medical assistant. Lectures cover the anatomy, medical terminology and medical conditions pertaining to each body system. Clinical instruction provides hands-on training of the procedures associated with each body system. Competency is verified through a skills check-off system. Completion of the course prepares students to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Certification Exam (CCMA). What's Covered?...

- Removing Sutures and Changing Dressings
- Refilling Prescriptions

- Manual Blood Pressure
- Manual Urinalysis Reading
- IM, Subcut, and Intradermal Injections
Hybrid classes includes chapters, assignments, and tests. Students will be scheduled to come to class 3 days out of the week to acquire hands on training, and the last week will be used for CCMA testing.
Students will master using straight needles, vacuum collection devices, and capillary needles.
In-person classes are Tuesday - Thursday, 140 hours of applied studies and laboratory.
